Sex sells, and international sport governing bodies are contributing to the sexualisation of world sport. Sport is at risk of becoming practiced pornography with increasing sexualisation, commercialisation, and commodification of athletes’ bodies. Sport governing federations and organisations must take a hard look at the trend towards adult entertainment and soft pornography. More must be done to protect and safeguard athletes, in particular women and girls.
