‘As sports wait on Boards installation, Watts views first 100 days as mixed bag’

Page 33

The Minister of Sport and Youth Affairs, the Honourable Phillip Watts has described his first 100-plus days as a ‘mixed bag’ as it was period of transition. The Minister said that the ministry had to transition itself into a more focused, dynamic, and people-oriented institution, as Sport and Youth Affairs must offer an invaluable service to the country, particularly to the youths with impressionable minds.

It was stated that the Minister had been given the assurance that the various boards under Sport and Youth Affairs would be appointed shortly, as it is important to ensure that the board reflects persons who will have the necessary skill and expertise to fulfill the government’s mandate.
