‘Wallace, James add more cycling bronze’

T&T cyclists Makaira Wallace and Danell James added more silverware when they raced to individual bronze medals in their respective six-lap keirin finals at the second edition of the Junior Pan American Games at Velodrome in Asuncion, Paraguay last Friday. The two bronze medals carried T&T’s overall haul at the games to seven bronze medals, five in cycling and two in swimming.

Sport Minister Watts describes first 100 days as mixed bag; SporTT board coming soon |
The Minister of Sport and Youth Affairs, the Honourable Phillip Watts has described his first 100 days in office as a “mixed bag” after conducting reviews, internal audits, and identifying areas of improvement. Since the Minister’s appointment on May 4th, Watts has begun to transition the ministry to a professionally-run organization to fulfill the government’s mandate and focus on sports and youth affairs.
