Tyra Gittens-Spotsville warmed up for her Commonwealth Games medal bid with women’s long jump silver at the Ed Murphey Classic in Tennessee, USA, on Saturday.

Gittens-Spotsville disturbed the sand at a wind-assisted 6.70 metres, the Trinidad and Tobago athlete producing that effort in the sixth and final round.

Bishop Anstey High School East was abuzz at the weekend with the Pan-Caribbean Martial Arts Championship World Games 2026.

The championship brought together martial artists from Trinidad and Tobago, across the Caribbean and beyond, reinforcing the country’s role as a hub for high-level sport and youth development.
