On Friday 30th January 2026, the Ministry of Sport and Youth Affairs in collaboration with SporTT, launched the Primary Schools Cricket Programme at the Hasely Crawford Stadium.

Minister of Sport and Youth Affairs, the Honorable Phillip Watts reinforced the importance of young children being able to start early.

Sport News  'Coach Yorke's future could be decided by March'

 

Within the next two months the Trinidad and Tobago Football Association (TTFA) will make a decision as to whether Dwight Yorke will stay on as head coach of the men’s senior team.

This was revealed by Director of Media Communications at the TTFA, Shaun Fuentes, who said both parties had been in discussions on the way forward.

On Friday, Sport ambassador Nicholas Pooran challenged young players to dream big and believe their cricket journey can begin at primary school level as the 2026 Primary Schools Cricket Programme was officially launched in the VIP Lounge at the Hasely Crawford Stadium.

The Sports Company of Trinidad and Tobago, in collaboration with the Ministry of Sport and Youth Affairs, officially launched the latest installment of the Primary Schools Cricket Programme at the VIP lounge, Hasely Crawford Stadium.

The five-month programme will target schools across the country.

The Caribbean Premier League is taking its commitment to grassroots cricket development to a new level.

CPL executives met with the Minister of Sport and Youth Affairs, the Honorable  Phillip Watts last Thursday to discuss an ambitious primary school cricket programme set to roll out in 2026.
