TWO schools from the Southeast Zonal Council of the Trinidad and Tobago Cricket Board (TTCB) proved their superiority at the Primary Schools Cricket Festival Day organized by the Sports Company of T&T on Tuesday.

Rochard Douglas Presbyterian emerged winners with St Mary’s Government Primary runners-up, and Madras Government third in an exciting day’s cricket at the National Cricket Centre. And coming in for high praise was the Sports Company of Trinidad and Tobago (SporTT).

West Indies Under-19 batter Brendan Boodoo will captain the Trinidad and Tobago team at this year’s West Indies Rising Stars 50-over Under-19 Championship in Antigua.

Boodoo, prolific in local youth cricket this year, will lead a 14-man squad at the tournament, with Renaldo Fournillier being his vice-captain.
The squad also includes middle-order batter Kaiden Pollard and Daron Dhanraj who is a left-arm spinner.

Arouca Beatniks, once a household name in East Trinidad in the sport of football, is returning to prominence after winning three titles this year alone.

Previously a successful campaigner in the Eddie Hart Football League in the Under-14, U-16, and U-19 Divisions under then-coach Eddie Stanford, Arouca Beatniks made major strides by claiming the national Under-17 crown, as well as the East Zone U-17 and Under-20 titles under Coach Kerron Hercules, an understudy of Stanford.
