'Golden Wave - Swimmer Blackman gets two more CAC wins in 100 free, 4x100 relay' |
TEAM TTO men swimmers splashed to a historic gold medal and a new Games record in the Men’s 4x100m freestyle relay last night in Santo Domingo. It was Nikoli Blackman’s second gold medal on the night after he blasted to victory in the Men’s 100m freestyle earlier in the evening at the Central American and Caribbean (CAC) Games. With those two golden swims, the TTO medal tally jumped to eight-- three gold and five bronze. Those medals were complemented by endurance rider Akil Campbell’s bronze in the Men’s omnium earlier in the afternoon. |

'Lara: SIr Garry shaped my journey' |
THE man who broke Sir Garfield Sobers’ record for the highest Test score 32 years ago, yesterday, described the West Indies cricket legend’s farewell as a moment to celebrate. Brian Lara, who in 1994 eclipsed Sir Garry’s unbeaten 365 that had stood as the highest score by a batter in Test cricket for 36 years, also called for the introduction of a Sir Garfield Sobers Initiative aimed at creating a resurgence in West Indies cricket. |

Akeem Stewart put Trinidad and Tobago on the medal table at the 2026 Commonwealth Games in Glasgow, Scotland, yesterday, the para athlete bagging men’s discus F42-44/F61-64 bronze. Stewart landed the implement 56.82 metres—the longest throw in the entire competition. However, with athletes of varying impairment levels in the same event, the Raza point score system was applied. |

Barbados and the world said goodbye to West Indies and Barbados cricketing legend Sir Garfield Sobers at Kensington Oval on Wednesday.
