‘Ministry of Sport Distributes $817,000 in Grants to Athletes and Organizations’
|
The Ministry of Sport and Youth Affairs advanced its commitment to sport development and athlete empowerment across Trinidad and Tobago with the disbursement of $817,000.00 in grant funding. A total of 11 cheques were issued to beneficiaries across key categories: - High-Performance/Elite Athlete Assistance Programme – 1 cheque valued at $250,000.00 - Individuals in the Sport Category – 2 cheques totaling $105,000.00 - National Sporting Organizations and Sport Serving Bodies – 8 cheques totaling $462,000.00

‘JAVA Meets CPL’
|
Minister of Sport and Youth Affairs, the Honourable Phillip Watts said the JAVA Cricket Programme has delivered on its pilot promise to take cricket development “down into the grassroot,” with special focus on rural and less-advantaged young people. Dozens of youngsters got a close up look at professional cricket with their attendance at the Republic Bank Caribbean Premier League clash between the Trinbago KnightRiders and the St. Kitts and Nevis Patriots. This was part of the Ministry’s push to inspire the next generation.
