It was a double-gold weekend for Ella-Marie Young at the Caribbean Junior Road Cycling Championships in Belize.
Having captured the title in the Juvenile Women’s individual time trial crown on Saturday, Young returned yesterday to claim gold in the road race.

'Tough place for TKR' - Pooran admits CPL title defence will be challenging
Nicholas Pooran is hoping that coming home will help restore the winning habit for his Trinbago Knight Riders following back-to-back defeats in the Republic Bank Caribbean Premier League.

TTO’s cyclists concluded their campaign at the UCI Track Junior World Championships in Heusden-Zolder, Belgium without a medal, after the sprinters failed to advance to the medal rounds of the keirin yesterday.

Bascombe just misses T&T 200m record
Shaniqua Bascombe came within a whisker of breaking the Trinidad and Tobago Women’s 200 metres record when she clocked a personal best 22.26 seconds for silver at the Felix Sanchez Classic in Santo Domingo, Dominican Republic, on Saturday.
Bascombe’s half-lap sizzler was just one-hundredth of a second slower than the 22.25 national record established by Michelle-Lee Ahye at the 2016 Olympic Games in Rio de Janeiro, Brazil.

Pooran hoping to re-set TKR’s title challenge with a home victory tonight
The Knight Riders’ first home test is against 2024 champions St. Lucia Kings, who are currently second on the table with six points.
TKR had mixed results in their opening three matches, which started with a 19-run DLS win over the St. Kitts and Nevis Patriots in St. Vincent on August 8, and seven days later the team suffered a five-wicket losses to the Jamaica Kingsmen in Antigua and the Antigua and Barbuda Falcons at North Sound, Antigua.

T&T’s Malique Lewis Begins New Chapter After Milwaukee Bucks Selection
Trinidad and Tobago basketballer Malique Lewis is set to continue his career in Australia with National Basketball League team Cairns Taipans, which has announced the signing of the 21-year-old on a two-year deal.
Lewis, who was the 60th pick in the 2026 NBA draft by the Milwaukee Bucks, will open the new NBL season as a draft-and-stash player, with the Bucks still holding the NBA draft rights to the 21-year-old.
